No release trend defines the season any longer, which is good news for girls who like to strike out on their own in the fashion department. Whether it’s dizzying prints or modern florals, this season truly has something for everyone, and daring fashionistas can really customize their look. Here are the top trends as seen on the Fall/Winter 2014 runways – take your pick:

 

Florals

Florals go past spring to become a fall staple. From embroidered tulle and printed chiffon at Valentino to shimmering brocade and 3-dimensional, these new florals are bold and gorgeous.

 

Geometric Prints

Not sold on florals? The season’s geometrics offer up a pleasing alternative. Circles, squares and triangles made their way onto frocks of all varieties: Retro-tinged at Prada, candy-coloured at Chanel, hand-painted at Carolina Herrera and oversized at Bottega Veneta.

 

Knitted garments

Head-to-toe knitted garments was the ticket on fall runways, as seen at Celine, Marc Jacobs and Edun, who all showed ribbed knit trousers under matching sweaters in pale hues. For the fashion-forward, Calvin Klein’s intarsia stripes, Comme des Garcons artfully bunched and The Row’s oversized knits offer a original spin.
