With Kim and Kanye tying the knot in Florence, Adam Levine wedding his own Victoria’s Bolt from the blue Angel, and Brangelina jumping on the matrimonial bandwagon just this week, summer seems to be the hottest season for making like official. And while most of these celebrity weddings have been spectacularly romantic (see the aforementioned), not all celebrity weddings live up to the same standard of excitement and fanfare.

Whether it’s a guest list that’s lacking — like Mark Wahlberg‘s noted absence from brother Donnie‘s wedding to Jenny McCarthy, or the Carters’ choice to bypass the Kimye affair — or a star who dared to marry a normal (ahem, Naya Rivera), sometimes celebrity weddings wind up being as dull as your splendid aunt’s third cousin’s daughter’s dry wedding in the middle of nowhere.
