Star Jones is finding ‘The View’ a little dim

Former “The View” host Star Jones hasn’t been keeping an eye on the show’s new cast because “real women” don’t have time for that kind of thing, Jones tell Confidenti@l. “I saw the first day because I wanted to be supportive, but I have a job and I can’t be watching daytime TV,” she told us at the American Ballet Theater’s Opening Gala. “Honestly not at all.” Jones, who was on “The View” from 1997 to 2006, isn’t alone. After a gangbusters season 18 premiere last month, the ABC talk show is getting similar ratings to what it had before the cast was overhauled. That doesn’t mean Jones doesn’t still keep up with her old pals when the cameras aren’t running. “Whoopi (Goldberg) is one of my best friends. Rosie (O’Donnell) and I like each other to death, of course,” she said. “But real women don’t sit around and discuss daytime gossip, so honestly, they don’t.”

How you doin’? Wendy Williams is trying her hand at comedy. The talk queen will take the stage at the New Jersey Performing Arts Focal point in Newark on Nov. 15 for the “How You Laughin’ ” standup show. Comedian Luenell will be her special-guest opening act. Williams will get in some do with a debut standup performance at the Venetian in Las Vegas, in the club’s Lipshtick comedy show on Halloween weekend.

Composition administrator Scooter Braun has confessed to hiring illegal workers. On a Thursday Bloomberg Television interview with Emily Chang, Justin Bieber’s mentor talked about bringing the Canadian pop star and his mom into the United States. “I beyond doubt brought them over illegally and kept them in the country illegally and put them in a town household around the corner from me in my name so no one would — know they were there,” he confessed. Where is INS when you need them?

Back up the pussy wagon! The ASPCA will team up with Uber for Wednesday’s National Cat Day, when the organizations will drive a “kitten car” full of adoptable cats to offices citywide for the “Uberkittens” event. (Plans are in place for a stop at the Day after day News’ downtown offices.) Similar National Cat Day events will take place in Austin (Tex.), Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.

Jenny McCarthy is throwing a Halloween costume bash at SiriusXM studios on Wednesday, following her live show “Dirty, Sexy, Amusing,” which starts Monday. McCarthy is said to be “thrilled” at landing a sweet post-“View” gig that’s has been picked up to run weekdays at 10 a.m. We have no doubt she’ll find something to fill those two hours every morning.
