Amanda Bynes released from California psychiatric facility: report
Amanda Bynes was blemished gorging at a Sunset Blvd. diner in Los Angeles late Thursday, hours after the troubled actress won her release from a psychiatric facility, TMZ reported.
A hearing officer said the 28-year-ancient Bynes could not be held involuntarily despite her doctor’s insistence that she is mentally ill, TMZ said.
She reportedly was lucid and on medication and questioned to be released.
The “Hairspray” actress and former Nickelodeon child star was positioned on an involuntary medical hold at a Pasadena hospital on Oct. 10 after claiming that a “microchip” in her brain led her to falsely accuse her dad of sexual abuse.
Doctors treating Bynes had gotten a 30-day extension of her involuntary hold, but that changed Thursday.
Also this week, a probate conservatorship gave her mother, Lynn Bynes, control over her daughter’s estate while she remains in round-the-timer treatment.
In her court filings, mom Lynn Bynes cited the former Nickelodeon star’s recent DUI arrest in California and erratic public behavior in New York as she argued that Bynes poses a “substantial risk” to herself and others, TMZ.com first reported.
Bynes’ first night of freedom saw her chow down – alone – on fried chicken, salmon, guacamole and two different salads, according to TMZ.
She was also in search of a hotel.
