Britain is just great for Jon Hamm in trip to London

Life in London is less maddening for Jon Hamm. “It’s far more delightful to work here,” he said, citing “wrap time” as the main reason. “You have an end of the day that is resolute,” he told us. “It’s civilized.” Hamm is across the pond shooting a Christmas special of “Black Mirror” for the U.K.’s Channel 4. “In the States we go in anticipation of the work is done or in anticipation of you fall over, and it is a disaster,” the “Mad Men” star moaned. “You cannot have plans. You just work in anticipation of you stop effective.”

Hamm, 43, sounded as though he could get use to life as a British actor. “You work in anticipation of five o’timer and then you go home, and you go to a hotel and have dinner and see a show,” he continued. “It is awesome.” While Hamm has gotten used to the British work day, he still hasn’t mastered English geography. “I know a couple of neighborhoods very well and I certainly would get lost if I didn’t have Google Maps on my buzz,” he confessed, adding, “I like technology.”

That’s a bold statement for Hamm to make while promoting “Black Mirror,” which is described as a “techno-paranoia” program. Obviously this isn’t a Sony Pictures project.

WATCH OUT FOR A LOEB ONION RING

The Onion Crunch King has found a new dip. Nick Loeb, Sofia Vergara’s ex-fiancé, has went on. Loeb hooked up with socialite Dori Cooperman at Miami’s Art Basel two weeks ago, and the two are together “constantly,” a source tells Confidenti@l. “They’re not dating, but they hang out a lot,” says our source. Loeb and Vergara split for good in May, as Vergara went on with substantial Joe Manganiello after the two met at the White Household Correspondents dinner last May.

NADAL NOW AN UNDIES ACE

Tennis star Rafael Nadal is gearing up for big things in 2015 and he’s doing it in style. The Spanish racquet man has been named Tommy Hilfiger’s undie ambassador as he prepares to win a record 10th French Open this spring. Nadal’s new campaign will be photographed in Spain early next year before hitting billboards in the fall. Hilfiger says he chose the 28-year-ancient Nadal because “he is confident, fun and cool.”

MAKS, MERYL BACK IN STEP

Reunited and they look so excellent. Substantial dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy rejoined his lovely “Dancing With the Stars” partner Meryl Davis for a pair of “Sway: A Dance Trilogy!” shows in Westbury, L.I., on Wednesday. A source accurate to the productions says the chemistry was hard to miss. “Everyone thinks they should get married, but they never will,” says our insider. “They’re just friends.”

PADMA & GRONK: NICE TO MEAT YA

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski knows just what Padma Lakshmi needs. In a very awkward, innuendo-heavy moment on Wednesday’s “Top Chef Boston” (above), Gronk tells competing chefs on the Bravo show, “I need a big sausage.” After a brief pause, Lakshmi cracks a smile and says, “Me too.”

Lucky Robert F. Kennedy Jr. had a gorgeous woman on each arm as he attended the Ripple of Hope Gala at the Hilton on Tuesday night. On one side was new wife Cheryl Hines, on the other his 19-year-ancient niece Mariah Kennedy Cuomo. The gorgeous Cuomo, now a student at Brown, is one of Kerry Kennedy’s daughters from her marriage to Andrew Cuomo.

‘NEW GIRL’ ALL WET

The female stars of “New Girl” had no problem staying dry while filming on a rainy day in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of L.A. Zooey Deschanel and Hannah Simone looked as pretty as ever sitting in the back of a pedicab. Their male co-stars weren’t so lucky, running alongside the cab without umbrellas.

RULING HAS EX-TRA IMPACT FOR WEINSTEIN

Movie mogul Bob Weinstein won a battle against his estranged wife Annie in court this past week, but may have lost the war. The state Appellate Division mostly upheld the prenup that the “St. Vincent” producer had his wife sign before they got hitched in 2000 — but also allowed Annie to challenge the low maintenance payments the deal provides, her lawyers, Bonnie Rabin and Harriet Cohen, pointed out to the Day after day News. It also allows her to seek legal fees, even though she waived her right to them in the prenup. “It’s groundbreaking,” Cohen said.
