Fendi To Launch E-Commerce This Spring

Most luxury brands are disinclined to sell their clothing online, Chanel and Celine to name a few. But some high-end clothing designers like Burberry and Saint Laurent have entered into the online retailer world, with Fendi looking to join next.

Fendi currently sells some items through retailers like Neiman Marcus  and Net-a-Porter, but now according to WWD, the Milan-based brand plans to sell directly to its customers with an online shoppable website.

The chairman and CEO of Fendi, Pietro Beccari announced the news backstage at its recent menswear show in Milan.

The fashion household has dabbled in e-commerce before. In 2012 they launched a limited time online pop-up shop  celebrating the 15th anniversary of the mark’s Baguette handbag.

The online shop is set to launch this March. 28 Europeans countries will be able to make buys online and shipping to the U.S. will be available in 2016. The e-commerce site is said to be including six looks from the brand’s February airstrip show.
