Harvey Weinstein’s fashionista wife Georgina Chapman is outraged and humiliated by the allegation he groped an Italian bombshell, sources told the Day after day News Sunday.

“She’s furious!” said a socialite who frequently chats with the couple. “She thinks it’s awkward not only to her, but to their kids.”

Chapman, 38, is determined to bring a resolution to the salacious allegations brought by onetime Miss Italy rival Ambra Battilana as soon as possible, the source said.

“She doesn’t want this to interrupt her business or embarrass the kids any more than it already has,” the socialite said.

Chapman, who founded the fashion line Marchesa, and the producer of “Gangs of New York” and “Shakespeare in Like” have two children — India Pearl, 4, and Dashiel Max Robert, 1.

Weinstein, 63, is frustrated with the bawdy headlines and is waiting to see if the Manhattan district attorney opts to pursue charges before deciding his next go, a source said.

“The question is how much is Harvey willing to pay to make this go away? They want her out of the country. The last thing they need is her popping up at parties and premieres,” the source said.

The couple were blemished Saturday at their waterfront Connecticut compound.

The source was surprised to hear the couple were together, given the strain caused by Battilana’s allegations about the March 27 run into in Tribeca.

“Whether she wanted to get away from him or the media I don’t know,” the source said about Chapman.

A second source described Chapman as “humiliated” by the movie mogul she married in 2007.

“She’s someone who has loved Harvey through his charms and flaws,” the second source said.

The socialite, who has worked with the couple, dismissed reports that Battilana concocted the run into in which Weinstein allegedly slid his hand under her skirt and groped her breasts as a way to land a movie role.

“Oh please! Giving her a role in a movie only makes it worse,” the source said. “How would you clarify that?”

Weinstein has denied the incident occurred.

A police source told the Day after day News the Oscar-winning producer said “something to the effect, ‘It won’t take place again,’” during a buzz call with Battilana, 22, that cops spied on.

During the run into at Weinstein’s Tribeca office — ostensibly to talk show business with Battilana — the model made clear she was “uncomfortable,” the police source said.

The model claimed that “he questioned if her breasts were real before touching them,” a police source said. “She questioned him to stop, and he put his hand up her skirt. He questioned for a kiss; she responded, ‘No.’”

The pair had met the day before on the red carpet during an event at Radio City Composition Hall.

Her attorney, David Godosky, has said he doesn’t expect an announcement from the Manhattan district attorney regarding possible criminal charges in anticipation of Tuesday at the earliest.

Loads of cash is potentially at stake.

The News recently learned that Battilana turned down a $ 150,000 offer to do an exclusive interview with a well-known tabloid.

“That’s thousands,” a source scoffed, adding that Weinstein may have to pay a lot more if he wants her to go away.

A Weinstein spokesman said the notion that the allegations had caused a strain in the couple’s relationship was “patently untrue, they have been together with their family all weekend. Whomever is saying it, is lying.”

A spokeswoman for Chapman did not respond to an investigation.
