Caustic comedienne Joan Rivers was on life support Saturday as family members stood vigil at a Manhattan hospital.
The 81-year-ancient Rivers, who was initially positioned in a medically-induced coma after collapsing Thursday, was now attached to machines that are keeping her alive, according to TMZ.com.
Sources told the web site that daughter Melissa was hopeful that her mother could still bounce back after going into cardiac and respiratory arrest.
No choice on Rivers’ future will be made for a few days, TMZ.com said. Neither Melissa Rivers nor the hospital had any note Saturday on the Emmy-winning Rivers’ shape up.
Sources had told the Day after day News that Rivers would not want to live except she could delight in “a full and active life … (she) would never want to be a burden on anyone.”
