Kristen Stewart: Taking a break from acting, move to downtown L.A. and make art

Kristen Stewart says her next few films will be her swan song as an actress – for now.

The 24-year-ancient “Twilight” star told USA Today she plans on dropping out of the public eye for a while to go to downtown L.A. and make art.

“I’m taking some time off because I’ve been effective for two years,” Stewart said.

“I’m an actor and that’s my art form, and because I started that so young, I’ve always felt intimidated and insufficient when I think about other forms of art I want to make, I’m going to take so much time off,” she said.

“I’m going to buy a live-work space in downtown LA and I’m going to make some (stuff) with my hands.”

The soft-spoken brunette star said she arrived at the choice to embrace a more bohemian lifestyle “a few weeks ago.”

Stewart’s remarks came as she has been doing press for her new Army tap, “Camp X-Ray.”

She plays a young, impressionable private who’s been assigned to serve patrol at Guantanamo Bay.

The character, Private Amy Cole, who develops a conflicted friendship with one of the detainees, is a far weep from “Twilight’s” vampire ingenue Bella Swan.
