Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015 Best Looks Roundup

As Milan Fashion Week ends today, we have now seen standard styles that’ll be on our list of what to wear. Italian designers have continued multiple trends seen over the past few weeks in other cities.

At Peter Dundas’ last personal collection for Emilio Pucci, we saw horizontal stripes, ruffled necks, zodiac signs personalized for his favorite models and evening separates as a loving tribute to his mother. Mother’s Day came around early for duo Dolce & Gabbana as they celebrated family in their presentation of “Viva la Mamma” with eleven mothers on stage and babies including pregnant Bianca Balti who strutted the airstrip. There were embroideries of roses, “Ti voligo bene mamma” (I like you mom) and drawings of families on garnishing.

Our Canadian DSquared2 boys , Dean and Dan Caten showed us a thing or two about heritage for their 20th anniversary, using inspiration from the North with parkas, ponchos, chunky socks and tribal prints. Fendi, Moschino and Ermanno Scervino had models decked out in elongated and accessorized puffer coats. Miuccia Prada went a little 60’s sci-fi this time with a pastel palette and added a girly flare. Donatella Versace made the internet her own as sparkly ampersand and hashtag designs overlaid the models’ clothing. Roberto Cavalli and Philipp Plein really want to keep warm next winter as their hair lined yeti coats prove no incorrect. Black velvet dresses added a luxury touch to Giorgio Armani show especially with one model in a velvet pantsuit while MaxMara looked to George Barris’s photos of Marilyn Monroe from 1968, having models wrapping their hands around thick camel coats.

While many other designers also graced the sweet 70’s and Victorian trends and ahem – pawed footwear, we tally up the best looks from Italy’s hub and designers  albeit sans puppies on our feet !
