Oscar de la Renta was one of the last splendid and glamorous designers of our era, and now his name will live on forever in the city he called home for many years.

The mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio announced on Tuesday that the late (and splendid) designer Oscar de la Renta will have a road named after him.

The mayor went on to say that Oscar’s name will be forever ingrained into the fabric of the city and that no one was more deserving of the honour!

We wholeheartedly agree and hope the road which will carry the Oscar de la Renta’s name will be filled with fabulous shops, chic cafes and glamorous women- much in keeping with the designer’s own, ever lasting style.
