People magazine killed off legendary actor Kirk Douglas a little prematurely.

Editors at the celeb mag had to scramble to remove an obituary from People.com Sunday after someone accidentally published that the 97-year-ancient “Spartacus” actor had died.

The article was headlined “DO NOT PUB Kirk Douglas Dies” and had a timestamp on it for Sept. 29, 2014.

“Kirk Douglas, one of the few genuine box-office names to emerge just as TV was overtaking American culture in the years right after World War II, died TK TK TK,” the article said.

Obituaries in newspapers and magazines are often written in advance, with “TK” taking the place of copy to be written later.

“He was 97 (DOB 12/9/1916) and had been in good shape despite having suffered a debilitating 1996 stroke that rendered his speech hard.”
