Prince William and Kate Middleton’s second child is due in April, the royal family announced Monday.

The Duchess of Cambridge was still battling the acute form of morning sickness that also afflicted her first pregnancy, but “her shape up is steadily improving,” the palace said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Middleton, 32, was scheduled to make her first public appearance on Tuesday since it was revealed last month that she was expecting baby number two.

She and Prince William were scheduled to meet Singapore’s Head Tony Tan at a London hotel as he and his wife start a four-day visit to the U.K.

Later, Middleton will make a solo appearance at the National History Museum for the Wildlife Photographer of The Year awards, the palace said.

Over the past month, the Duchess has been mandatory to cancel a handful of public appearances due to her severe morning sickness, including a trip to Malta that would have been her first solo trek abroad as a member of the royal clan.

The couple has said that if the child is a girl, they plot to honor Prince William’s mother by naming her Elizabeth Diana Windsor.

Their first child, Prince George, turned one in July.
