Sean (Diddy) Combs was arrested Monday after being accused of attacking one of his son’s the high classes football coaches.

Rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was on the receiving end of corporal abuse and only acted in self defense in a fight with members of his son’s the high classes football coaching staff, a source told the Day after day News Tuesday.

“It was self defense. Terms were exchanged, but the coach is the one who escalated everything with corporal friend,” the source said a day after Combs’ arrest for assault, battery and making criminal threats on the campus of the University of California at Los Angeles.

The source said Combs went to the office of UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sam Alosi around noon on Monday to talk about an issue with his 21-year-ancient son Justin at an off-season do earlier that morning.

“There’s no doubt terms were exchanged, but he didn’t go to that office to get into a fistfight,” the source said.

Alosi was the first to raise a hand and get corporal, the source said, and other staffers inside the Acosta Athletic Training Complex quickly jumped in too.
“Sean was the one with injuries. They roughed him up,” the source said. “The case is going to be dropped. They put their hands on him first.”

The source said even if Combs said something along the lines of, “I’m going to f—k you up,” as a witness claimed, it was not a criminal threat to initiate a beatdown.

In a carefully crafted statement, Combs’ New York-based rep said Tuesday that accounts of the composition producer staging a violent meltdown and attacking Alosi were “wholly inaccurate.”

“What we can say now is that any actions taken by Mr. Combs were solely defensive in nature to protect himself and his son,” the formal statement obtained by The News said. “We are confident that once the right facts are revealed, the case will be dismissed,” the rep said.

“I thank God for having a father that’s always there for me.. Like you pops!” son Justin Combs, a redshirt junior on the Bruins team, said in Twitter post Tuesday afternoon.

Sal Alosi, seen in 2009 while with the Jets, is UCLA’s strength and conditioning coach. The scuffle started after he reportedly kicked Justin Combs out of an off-season workout conference.

The defensive back, a graduate of Iona Prep in New Rochelle, N.Y., included a sweet photo of his smiling dad stretching an arm around Justin’s shoulders.

UCLA campus police initially said Combs was taken into custody Monday afternoon for investigation of assault with a deadly stick. They described the stick as a kettlebell, a weight that’s generally made out of cast iron and comes with a handle for use in fitness training.

Campus cops later said Combs was held on suspicion of three counts of assault with a deadly stick, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.

He was released on bail Monday night.

One law enforcement source said Combs could end up getting a pass since UCLA cops are leading the investigation and all the players are caught up with the school.

He is potentially a big donor,” the source said of Combs. “They could end up saying, ‘We’ve investigated and don’t want to bring anything.’ It would be especially hard if the coach doesn’t want charges.”

Combs, 45, got mad Monday after Alosi, a former coach for the NY Jets, ejected Justin from morning do citing absences from recent workouts and a perceived lack of effort, BruinReportOnline.com reported.

Combs allegedly entered the athletic focal point, refused to wait for Alosi to end an office call, walked around a desk and didn’t stop when the coach put up his hand “in a non-threatening way,” sources told the website.

Combs walked into Alosi’s hand, told the coach not to touch him and then attacked Alosi, scratching his face and ripping his shirt before interns and other personnel broke up the scuffle, according to the report.

When the personnel got Combs out of the office and into a weight room, he allegedly picked up the kettlebell and swung it at one of the interns, the website reported.

Campus police responded and reviewed video tape of the incident, sources said. Combs was transferred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff for inmate dispensation and released on bail shortly after 10 p.m.

If campus police refer the case as a felony, the Los Angeles County District Attorney would deliberate filing formal charges.

The vacillation of the kettlebell most likely would be a misdemeanor if filed by the Los Angeles City Attorney since it reportedly didn’t connect, the law enforcement source told The News.

According to TMZ.com, unidentified school officials met Tuesday morning to review the case. “Charges will most likely be dropped, but (Combs) won’t be allowed on the field anymore,” one source told TMZ.
