Stars say goodnight to Dave Letterman, ‘Late Show’

It was a star-studded farewell as A-listers flocked to the Ed Sullivan Theater on Wednesday afternoon for the final episode of “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

Tina Fey waved to fans, Barbara Walters smiled for cameras, Jim Carrey worked the crowd sporting a bushy beard, Chris Rock rocked out in sunglasses and Peyton Manning was game to signing autographs before the tapping.

DAVID LETTERMAN: ‘THE MOST IMPORTANT SHOW OF MY LIFE’

Fans applauded as Steve Martin showed up, and it was a family affair for Alec Baldwin, who arrived with his wife, Hilaria, and their 1-year-ancient daughter, Carmen Gabriela. Additional guests included Julia Louis-Dreyfus and CBS CEO Les Moonves.

Jerry Seinfeld and his wife, Jessica, were among the first to arrive, sharing a silly selfie on Instagram captioned, “Late … to a very vital date!”

One of Letterman’s favorite bands, the Foo Fighters, tweeted: “Final time on this stage…#Thanks Dave,” before performing.

PHOTOS: DAVID LETTERMAN’S FINAL GUESTS

The rock band has appeared on the show dozens of times, including when Letterman returned from his 2000 heart surgery to play his favorite song “Everlong.”

For a heartfelt final Top 10 list, guests recited the the last things they wanted to say to Letterman.

“Dave, I’ll never have the money I owe you,” quipped Bill Murray, who popped out of a cake and chugged vodka with Letterman on Tuesday night’s show.

The 68-year-ancient amusing man finished his 33-year reign strong, holding the record for longest running late-night host in history.

During his final weeks behind the desk, he joked about retirement plans with Head Obama, got handcuffed to George Clooney and watched Tina Fey strip down to her Spanx.

Additional celebrities not in attendance took to social media to show their support.

“Watching David Letterman as a teenager in Indiana changed my entire outlook on life. #ThanksDave,” tweeted fellow comic Jim Gaffigan.

At the end of the tapping, Seinfeld and Rock embraced each other as stars waved good night to cheering “Late Night” fans.
