Stir it up again, with Rohan Marley’s coffee line

Rohan Marley has two well-known singers to thank for his highs in life: Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill.
The sixth child of Bob Marley was born into the good life because of his reggae legend father, but his standard Marley Coffee company was made possible with support from his former lover, with whom he has five children.
“ ’96 comes around, I meet Lauryn, Lauryn has a child,” Marley told The News’ Gina Pace. “I tell my brothers, I’m sorry bro, but this woman doesn’t know anything about children. I have to go to Jersey. She’s a singer, and I got to roll.”
The 42-year-ancient Marley, who keeps homes in Tribeca and Jamaica, says when he went in with Hill she was effective on a studio album, they were having their first child together and she was on top of the world.
“While she’s doing this stuff, I’m thinking I’m going to play soccer. In the meantime, I’m going to help her and be her driver, household husband. I’m going to do everything for her,” he remembers.
Then, “ ’99 comes and she says to me, ‘What do you do?’ Don’t you see? I mean, I do everything,” Marley says.
That was when he started looking into the 52-acre farm where he now grows Jamaica’s second-most standard export.

“Lauryn helped me with some (legal) fees and helped me get the land surveyed and helped me attain the land,” he says.
The two particularly split in 2011 when Hill delivered a baby that wasn’t Marley’s, which she clarified in a statement calling their relationship “long and complex.” When the Fugees front woman went to jail for tax evasion in 2013, Marley looked after their kids for three months.
“I never bring her name up, but I told her I would mention her name,” he says.
The Marley family is also preparing to launch a line of cannabis-infused products, and Rohan says father knows best in that department.
“The initial strains will be my dad’s personal strains that he loved,” said Marley.
