Toronto World MasterCard Fashion Week- Day 5
The World MasterCard Fashion Week at David Pecaut Square in Toronto came to a accurate with the grand end shows for yet another season. The runways were filled with alluring detail and embellishment for Spring/Summer 2015. Here’s Real Style’s guide to the latest shows, as WMCFW marks a dramatic exit to an enchanting week.
Brit Wacher: Montreal-based designer Brittany Wacher featured a simple black and white aesthetic, although styles were anything but understated. A sharp black and white crop top was paired with a statement necklace, while midi skirts in muted tones took over the footbridge. Layers, sharp pleats, slight ruffles on sleeves and colourblocking all made an appearance as a funky twist on classic work wear. Models stood on raised platforms on the airstrip, with crisp styles in caramel and burgundy for a pop of rich colour.

Mikhael Kale: At Mikhael Kale, an edgy yet feminine pink design with clear cut-out panels ruled the airstrip. A fleeting creamy dress with bold structured magenta detail on the bust and hem added a burst of colour. With a focus on geometric looks, original springtime whites, detailed pleats, skirts with asymmetrical hems and deep cuts on the hip, styles were unique and unforgettable.
HD Homme: The menswear mark open its signature sleek fitted styles for spring made by designer Hussein Dhalla. From trim dark blazers to floral print swim trunks, the collection ranged from elegant to quirky. A black and white suit with an abstract print and a fierce orange jacket instantly seized attention.
Stephan Caras: At Stephan Caras, heavenly white dresses with strapless necklines, asymmetrical hems and twinkling touches of gold detail floated onto the airstrip. From sultry low backs and deep V-neck cuts to distended sleeves and metallic pant suits, the collection was a sparkling fairy tale brought to life.
Madame Moje: Vancouver-based mark Madame Moje opened their show with a sleek magenta dress for a skintight silhouette. A high-collar blue lace dress left a haunting impression, while shades of aqua and cream added a refreshing colour palette. Models walked out in flirtatious punchy tones for a deception ball-inspired show, with a hand onto the airstrip from a dashing male model in a mask and dark suit.
Mikael D: The show opened with a classic black dress edged with white lace, and grew into a dazzling spectacle. Draped fabric, silver and gold embellishment and tiered dresses in sky blue and pale pink tones made an airy silhouette. The show came to a high-drama end with a stunning white bridal gown and floor-length flowing veil, for a collection which said “I do” to spring fashion.
