Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive foundation raised $ 3.8 million in one night.

Alicia Keys and her Keep a Child Alive foundation’s gala raised $ 3.8 million in one night at their 12th annual Black Ball at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Keys was joined onstage by Chris Rock, who emceed the event, where Gayle King, Carmelo Anthony, Baz Luhrmann, Clive Davis, Lewis Hamilton, David Byrne, Maxwell, Nigel Barker and Mr. Shape up were all in stitches.

“The Splendid Gatsby” director Luhrmann revealed it was his first time at the gala, and he came because of his accurate friendship with Keys’ husband, Swizz Beatz, whom he nicknamed “Swizzy.”

“Alicia questioned me to come along and I said absolutely,” he told Confidenti@l. “I know her well and I know Swizzy. Swizzy was the first person, with Jay-Z, to see ‘Gatsby.’ He saw a rough cut very early on. I’ve known Swizzy for a long time.”

Lenny Kravitz and Wale later joined Keys on stage, who had in excellent health nicely from last week’s New York Marathon, telling us it was hard afterward.

“It was very hard to walk (the next day). Like the minute you sat down it was over for walking, it was really tough,” she told us. “I felt (I lost steam) at mile 23. I was like, ‘I can’t believe these three more miles. Where are they? Why is this taking so long?’ So that was where I started to have a meltdown, but I did it!”

The former “Late Show with David Letterman” maestro will take the stage on Nov. 11 for a Veterans Day concert that also features Small Anthony, the Manhattan Transfer and Judy Collins. The show takes place at the New York The high classes for Ethical Culture on W. 64th St. and proceeds go to fighting post-traumatic stresss disorder (PTSD).

FROM HIP HOP TO ART FOR FAB 5

Last night, hip hop pioneer Fab 5 Freddy hosted the opening of “The Artists We Know” exhibit, curated by Alfa Development’s CEO, Mike Namer. The exhibit previewed Fab’s works, which will be featured throughout new boutique hotel HGU New York. One insider at the exhibition tells us Fab, who had two of his Andy Warhol homage pieces featured, “had to turn down numerous requirements” from guests who were analytical about purchasing his pieces. “Despite the tempting offers, Fab kindly had to clarify the art was reserved for the new hotel,” said the guest.
