Amazon Launches Clothing And Shoes In Canada

Although Seattle-based website Amazon is already known as an online shopping destination for books and electronics, the website has officially launched a clothing and shoes category on its Canadian website today.

According to The Globe and Mail, 1.5 million new items will now be added to Amazon.ca. In the past year, the Seattle-based website has doubled its online offerings in Canada.

Amazon.ca’s country administrator, Alexandre Gagnon, also said to The Globe and Mail that the site will offer free shipping on buys above $ 25 and free returns.

The new Shoe Store on Amazon.ca carries shoes for women, men and kids, with a selection of handbags. The footwear brands include names like adidas, Clarks, Nine West, Steve Madden, Calvin Klein and ecco. The Canadian website has also added a Summer Prerequisites store, a Boots & Booties Store and a Woman’s Shop. There is also a Denim Shop, with jeans from 7 For All Mankind, Levi’s, Joe’s, Diesel and Hudson.

For Canuck fashionistas who want to splurge on must-haves from the comfort of their homes, Amazon.ca’s new features just may make it simpler to shop ‘til you drop.
