Amy Adams just can’t hack it. As if the Sony hacking debacle hasn’t caused enough problems, stars are quickly finding that there’s yet another downside: it’s all anyone wants to talk about.

Confidenti@l is told that Amy Adams, who got trapped up in the scandal when leaked emails revealed she was paid less for “American Hustle” than her male co-stars, “freaked out” before a scheduled appearance on “Today,” refusing to discuss the leaked e-mails.

Producers insisted that she be grilled on the subject and another source says the interview with the “Julie and Julia” star was “cancelled at the last minute” when they couldn’t agree on what questions she would be questioned.

We’re told that Adams, who’s making the media rounds to promote the Tim Burton movie “Huge Eyes,” “got aggressive” in the green room before leaving.

The five-time Oscar nominee hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and made no mention of the hack, choosing to make her monologue into an extended holiday-themed song and dance number. Instead, the show addressed the scandal with Mike Myers reprising his role as Dr. Evil to discuss the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who is believed to be behind the attacks, and with a bit during Weekend Update in which the dictator was played by Bobby Moynihan.

Additional stars linked to the scandal have also been ducking and weaving to avoid questions about the cyber attack. Kevin Hart, who was dragged into the mess when an email emerged in which a studio exec called him a “whore” for asking for more money, given up for lost an interview with the Day after day News after that report broke. We were told the studio wanted to “focus on the movie (“The Wedding Ringer,” which he is promoting)” rather than the offending emails. Meanwhile, Seth Rogen and James Franco, the stars of “The Interview,” had given up for lost all their media appearances surround the movie, partly because of concerns about their safety, well before the studio announced that it was halting distribution of the tap.

Adam’s part in the hacking report broke on December 12th when an exchange between Sony co-chair Amy Pascal and other execs surfaced, appearing to show that she and Jennifer Lawrence were paid two percent less than their male co-stars, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and director David O’Russell.

Reps for Adams and NBC did not immediately respond to our request for note.
