Athleta Teams Up With Derek Lam On Lifestyle Collection

Fitness fashion brand Athleta is teaming up with designer Derek Lam in it’s first ever collaboration. Lam is lending his designs to a sporty lifestyle collection, providing super chic fitness wear that can be worn further than of the gym, a foremost trend in the fashion world. Everyone seems to be giving in to the athleisure or sportswear trend, with designers like Alexander Wang, Elie Tahari, Rebecca Minkoff, all making their own lines insider by the trend.

“We’re excited to collaborate with partners who share Athleta’s passion for fitness and style and know that the modern woman lives her life on-the-go,” Athleta head Nancy Green said in a press release. “Versatile clothing with elevated style that takes her throughout the day is incredibly vital to our customer. Derek Lam 10 Crosby is the right brand to expand Athleta’s offerings.”

The collection will be released in September 2015 and will span throughout three seasons — fall, winter and spring 2016. The collection will include all athleisure necessities from leggings, shorts and jackets, to sweatshirts and custom sneakers.

“Our customer leads a very active lifestyle. Fitness is very much a part of it, and we always strive to make clothing which works in her life. Athleta’s expertise in performance fabrics and fibers has existing us a really exciting opportunity to make a collection which complements perfectly what we do for Derek Lam 10 Crosby,” Lam said in a press release.

Look for the collection this September available online at Athleta.com, along with select Athleta stores and Derek Lam 10 Crosby boutique in Soho.
