Baldwin doesn’t believe Trump has shot, but Kanye might

Alec Baldwin isn’t sure that Donald Trump can “Make America Splendid Again,” but he likes Kanye West’s chances in 2020.
The mercurial actor told Confidenti@l at the USTA’s 15th Annual Opening Night celebration of the U.S. Open that politics, like tennis, is a game where anything is possible.

“Four or five of those men and women (in the presidential race) will drop out, who knows what’s gonna take place with the bulk of these people,” he said. “And when those people leave is their support gonna go to Trump? I think it’s unlikely.
“I think what Trump has now is pretty much what he can count on,” Baldwin added. “I think he’s only gonna’ go down and someone else is only gonna go up.’ And something tells me that in direct relationship to Trump’s comments about Hispanic Americans that Rubio might be the beneficiary from it.”
Carlos Osorio/APBaldwin is a lot less enthusiastic about Donald Trump as a presidential candidate.
Baldwin was a lot more enthusiastic about West’s announcement at the MTV VMA’s Sunday that he too would seek the presidency.
“Brilliant!” the “30 Rock” star said of the prospective candidate.
On Tennis, U.S. Open favorite Serena Williams is the only person who can’t be counted out when the going gets tough, according to Baldwin’s analysis.
“She’s one of the only tennis players I know – there’s an old line about tennis which is ‘You can be in a match and be down 6-like, 5-like and you can still technically come back and win and that’s bulls–t,” he said. “Except for Serena Williams. I never count her out.”
