Bill Cosby’s biographer Mark Whitaker has admitted he was incorrect to not deal with the sexual assault allegations against the actor for his book, “Cosby: His Life and Times,” which was released this past September.

Whitaker took to Twitter to respond to New York Times columnist David Carr’s article titled “Calling Out Bill Cosby’s Media Enablers, Including Myself” that named him as one of “those in the know.”

“Mark Whitaker, who did not find room in his nearly-500-page biography, ‘Cosby: His Life and Times,’ to address the accusations that Mr. Cosby had assaulted numerous women,” Carr wrote in his piece.

“At least four of whom had spoken on the record and by name in the past about what they say Mr. Cosby did to them,” he noted, pointing out the claims against the 77-year-ancient comedian that came prior to the women who have come forward over the last few weeks accusing “The Cosby Show” star of sexually assaulting them years ago.

“@carr2n David you are right. I was incorrect to not deal with the sexual assault charges against Cosby and pursue them more aggressively,” Whitaker tweeted in response to Carr after the article was published Monday.

Whitaker added on Twitter that he is “following new developments and will address them at the appropriate time.”

“If right the tales are shocking and horrible,” he said.

Cosby has not addressed the building allegations himself but his lawyer, Martin Singer, has called the accusers’ tales “increasingly ridiculous and completely illogical.”
