With the opening day of the 68th Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France officially wrapped, the annual event has already showcased an array of eye-catching looks on the red carpet. From actress Lupita Nyong’o to former Victoria’s Bolt from the blue Angel Doutzen Kroes, here’s a closer look at the best dressed stars on last night’s red carpet.
1) Lupita Nyong’o: The 32-year-ancient actress, who took home an Academy Award for her performance as Instrument in 2013’s 12 Years A Slave, has become known for her elegant, fashion-forward red carpet style. Her look at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival was no exception, as Nyong’o stunned in a flowing green chiffon creation by Gucci. The vivid grasshopper green shade was inspired by the insects in Uganda, which are currently in season. The frock’s plunging V-neckline, crystal embellishment and dainty pleats completed her look.
2) Doutzen Kroes: The 30-year-ancient Dutch supermodel was a vision in a one-shouldered floor-length white dress by Atelier Versace. The fierce cut-out detail along the bustline added visual interest to the fitted design, while the thigh-high slit revealed a peek of toned, trim leg.
3) Sienna Miller: Always regarded as a celebrity style icon, the 33-year-ancient Unfinished Business star is a member of the Cannes Film Festival’s jury panel this year. At the opening day ceremony, Miller stayed right to her chic red carpet reputation. The British beauty looked stunning in a dark blue custom-made Lanvin gown. With an elegant trailing hem, subtle ruched detail and a large statement bow on one shoulder, the one-shouldered number was a timeless look.
