Chelsea still chasing Edinson Cavani

Chelsea are reportedly linked with a huge-money landing of Edinson Cavani who scored 29 goals in the season. Cavani scored against the Blues last year in the Champions League and he reportedly has a £53m buy-out clause in his contract.

At present, Cavani is preparing for Confederations Cup in Brazil where he was questioned about interest shown by Chelsea and Manchester City in signing him. His answer was “I don’t know if they have yet made an offer for me but I would be more than satisfied to play under a administrator like Manuel Pellegrini or Jose Mourinho”.

The Marca confirmed that Chelsea have plotted to land the Napoli striker as a ‘gift’ for the new administrator Jose Mourinho.
