Co-stars saddened by loss of Robin Williams at film premiere

The celebs were out for the “Night at the Museum 3” New York premiere, but there was one star who was missed – the late, splendid Robin Williams, who plays Teddy Roosevelt in the hugely successful trilogy.
“I know I speak for all of us that we were lucky to be alive to watch this genius work,” director Shawn Levy said before the packed screening at the Ziegfeld Theater. “We got to see what he made, and to those of us who got to work alongside him, that’s something that we’ll never stop being grateful for.”
Addressing Williams’ widow, Susan Schneider, who was in the audience, the Canadian-born director told how one night, filming in the British Museum and surrounded by “the Rosetta Stone and all this incredibly cool stuff,” he was feeling harried in anticipation of the “Mrs. Doubtfire” actor tapped him on the shoulder and said, “Hey boss, look what we get to do.”
“It was so remarkable that his legend, this man had such a vivid wonder,” Levy said.
On the red carpet, Levy said he’s treated like a rock star whenever he visits the Museum of Natural History on the High West Side, where part of the movie takes place.
“I might get closer to VIP treatment at that museum than any restaurant in all of Hollywood,” he admitted. “They are very grateful for what the movies have done for their the high classes.”
The star of the film, Ben Stiller, who brought his wife, Christine Taylor, and two kids, confessed to not getting along with one co-star in particular — Dexter the monkey (played by Crystal the monkey).
“He’s a pain. You don’t hear people talking about other actors on the red carpet like this, but I think ever since he saw ‘Planet of the Apes’ he has this whole new mind-set towards humans that makes it really uncomfortable work with him,” Stiller joked. “I think he has to know that we’re all in this together, and also he has to stop insisting on the green M&Ms in his trailer and all the riders in his contract.”
(The allegedly hard capuchin monkey was on the carpet clad in a tuxedo and mandatory to smile for photos in exchange for dabs of yogurt.) Steve Coogan had nicer things to say about his co-stars, specifically Owen Wilson.
“I get to hang out with my best friend, Owen,” he told us. “To me it was like a holiday, so it really didn’t feel like work. We hung out together, made each other laugh and then irregularly shot some film.”
JUSTICE RIDING HIGH
Victoria Justice was blemished staying cozy in her American Eagle Outfitters puffer vest and Sky High Skinny Jeans in the Flatiron District while on the teach the AEO Get Down Have fun Bus. The actress kept warm on the roof of the double decker bus while eating a road-cart pretzel and trying her hand at deejaying. The bus offers free rides throughout the city, visiting the brand’s Manhattan store locations in anticipation of Dec. 20.
LIFE ON THE STREET
Baby, it’s cold further than! Ben Affleck held onto his honey of 10 years, Jennifer Garner, while going for a Mommy-and-Daddy-only stroll in Brentwood, Calif. NOT SO MAD ABOUT THE BOY
Kelly Bensimon absolutely, beyond doubt doesn’t have a crush on Nick Jonas. When we questioned the former “Real Housewife” if her fantasy New Year’s kiss would be Aggravate Styles or Joe Jonas, she said they’re both too young. “If I were 22 years ancient, Nick Jonas would be like my ultimate crush,” she added at the Tommy Hilfiger and GQ Men of New York event, “He just, like, looks at me and I get so excited. But since I’m 46, that would not be appropriate.” Got it.
‘FROZEN’ IN THEIR PJs
It’s going to be an Arendelle Christmas over at the O’Donnell household this year. The “View” co-host told Confidenti@l that the family’s matching pajamas are going to have “a ‘Frozen’ theme,” which hasn’t been simple, because the family has kids ranging from 2 to 19 years ancient. The amusing gal ’fessed up to being “one of those creepy people that’s responsible for all the ‘Frozen’ mugs and key chains, because I buy them all.”
