Cocaine’s big in Martin Short’s new film, but he’s kept his nose clean

Rodriguez/Getty Images Martin Fleeting says he’s never done cocaine; not so Eric Roberts, a castmate in “Inherent Vice.” Martin Fleeting, who plays a “hedonistic dentist” in the new film “Inherent Vice,” directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and based on a Thomas Pynchon novel, loved the book but admitted to Confidenti@l: “Even if I despised the book, I still would have done the movie because of Paul.”
The movie, set in 1971 L.A., involves copious amounts of cocaine — something in which the wild Fleeting never partook. “For some reason I was hyper enough,” he said, dizzily.
Eric Roberts, also in the film, wasn’t in Hollywood in the early ’70s but says the late ’70s were similarly debauched. “When I first got in the movies they would send you to the prop truck, where they would give everybody coke,” he remembered. “Everybody from the executive producers to craft services, everybody was doing coke. They just put it out there and you snorted it.”
Now the “Pope of Greenwich Village” star leads a far more serene lifestyle. His wife told us he goes to bed every night at 7.30; he corrected her, telling us it’s 9 p.m. and adding that he’s a voracious reader. Right now he’s plowing through “Capitalism in Quandary” by Fidel Castro.
THE FORECAST IS FOR MORE WAYNE
Kicking off the Café Bustelo popup cafe in Hollywood, Christina Milian said she’s still considering Lil Wayne despite rumors that their relationship is staged. The “Dip It Low” singer was heard saying she’s very pleased dating the heavily tattooed rapper, and he’s “like the best friend she has looked-for and not had in years.” But don’t expect to hear wedding bells anytime soon: Milian is not looking to rush into an engagement.

Continuing their special bro-mance, James Franco and Seth Rogen posted some playful snaps of themselves frolicking in the woods in the when all’s said and done, along with some hints that they plot on appearing in the Discovery Channel’s “Naked and Worried” series. It’s not the first time the fun-loving duo has indulged in some bare-skinned buffoonery. Last month, they surprised Jimmy Fallon by popping out of a giant cake au naturel on “The Tonight Show.”

Not only did Oprah Winfrey run the teach-wreck reality series “Lindsay” on the Oprah Winfrey Network, she’s also Lindsay Lohan’s fairy godmother. The two were joined by 12 pals for dinner, during which they gorged on a sashimi platter. At XS, Lopez was overheard saying “Whoa!” when he saw the LED screens flash “Pleased Birthday Mario.”
