Talk about Huge Brother watching you or rather sensing you!  This new collaboration between Google and Levi’s is about to have your jeans talking to your smartphone and connecting to your apps. Cool thought or just terrible thought? The latest collaboration between Google and denim brand Levi’s is beyond doubt out there Women’s Wear Day after day reports that the collaboration between Levi’s and Google will hit the shelves by Fall 2016.

According to Google, the California-based search engine giant has launched a new initiative titled Project Jacquard, which combines interactivity with textiles. . The yarns are used to make interactive textiles, which are interwoven with sensor grids. Next, the conductive yarns are attached to connectors and small circuits, which are embedded into the material.

In terms of wardrobe items, the smart clothes will include offerings such as Levi’s jeans, denim shirts and denim jackets. For fashionistas who can’t be parted from their beloved smartphones, these high-tech jean prerequisites will also be Bluetooth-friendly and able to connect to mobile devices. For the rest of us? Not sure if having our clothes track your every go is topping off our fashion must have. Nevertheless, this could beyond doubt have fascinating applications for athletes or extreme sports enthusiasts practicing in remote regions who can use this as a way to ensure that they are found.
