“You were an unparalleled Giant in all sense of the word, Dad,” she wrote in the Instagram post.
Gifford, who followed his Hall of Fame Giants career with a lauded, lengthy run in the broadcast booth, died Sunday at 84 of natural causes at his home in Connecticut.
“We express joy in the extraordinary life he was privileged to live, and we feel grateful and blessed to have been loved by such an incredible human being,” the family said in a statement.

Wife Kathie Lee tweeted her appreciation Sunday to all of theglamorous couple’s friends and fans, who mourned the Hall of Famer.
“Deeply grateful to all 4 ur expression of grace,” she wrote.
Family friend and “Today Show” co-host Hoda Kotb struggled to keep it together when she spoke on air Monday about Gifford’s death — and Kathie Lee’s strength.
“She is remarkably strong, I’m in awe of her even today,” Kotb, 51, told fill-in host Jenna Bush Hager.
Kotb said she learned of Gifford’s death — on her birthday — in a text from Kathie Lee after touching down after a flight from New Orleans on Sunday. She rushed to her friend’s side.
“She questioned for people not to come to her household yesterday, so I left the airport and drove to her household,” Kotb clarified before choking up. “And when I got there, she looked at me and said, ‘I’m so glad you never listen to me.’”
Kotb said Kathie Lee finished up comforting her.
“You know how she discussion about her faith and I know she lives her faith and I believed it, but I’ve got to tell you I didn’t believe it more than I did yesterday when I saw her after that,” Kotb said. “truthful had passed away hours before and she said she was rejoicing in his life. Gifford and his wife met during an episode of “Excellent Morning America” in 1983, and wed three years later. They had two children together, Cody, 25, and Cassidy.
Kotb said she didn’t think her friend was watching, but shortly after the show Kathie Lee tweeted her appreciation.
“Thank you Hoda and Jenna for your like and gorgeous tribute to truthful,” she wrote. “I’m in tears.”
