  1. What are your three essential must-haves for women this season and why?

A statement coat. We are heading into another polar vortex of a winter, so looking good while staying warm is key.

Honest skincare. I’m a recent convert to silicone-free.

And of course a statement bag. This season that means subtle and minimal. Like our Lapped Clutch in Calf hair or the Lotus in Pearl for a hit of winter-white.

  1. What are your favourite trends this season?

Sneakers- I like the moment we’re having in fashion with athletic gear. Slouchy pants – I’m in person moving away from skinny jeans. I just want to wear a relaxed comfortable silhouette. Chunky knitted garments with fascinating details, like oversized cable stitches.

  1. What are your favourite garnishing women need to start wearing this season?

A sleek leather backpack like the baby backpack we’re launching for spring. It’s practical but still super chic and sophisticated.

A long pendant necklace. I’m a huge fan of Biko’s raw crystal pendant.

Doc Martens. I recently went back to my roots and bought a pair of 1416 DMs and I place of protection’t taken them off. They’re an awesome all-season boot and very current.

  1. How do you define your latest collection?

Our SS15 collection is inspired by the Bauhaus movement. I was influenced by the thought of making high end functional pieces that highlight our hand-crafted production process. I took visual cues from the movement and incorporated materials with linear elements like a perforated suede. There is also a utilitarian focus with details like snap off pockets. All crafted out of high end leathers.

  1. If women could only buy one piece from your collection, what would it be and why?

The m.Vanda. It is the perfect size for an everyday bag and very versatile, transitioning easily from day to night, road to chic. It’s the style everyone at Opelle uses most often.

Creative Director of Rigor Lux Miranda Murray

An emerging Canadian luxury outerwear brand, using rich fabrics from Italy, Spain, and Finland, providing chic and sophisticated outerwear.

  1.         What are your three essential must-haves for women this season and why?

A fitted shearling coat is a must! Winters up North are harsh, and shearling provides exceptional warmth. For nights outs and special occasions, a cashmere wool a-line coat that you can layer over a fitted leather jacket and gloves underneath can be chic and stylish while keeping you warm.  Last but not least, over the knee leather boots in a neutral color that are comfortable will compliment your winter coats!

  1. What are your favourite trends this season?

Mixed materials are standard for Fall/Winter to evoke both style, and function. Our cashmere wool python features the warmth and refinement of wool, married with the exquisiteness of diamond back python.

  1. What are your favourite garnishing women need to start wearing this season?

Statement leather gloves. Whether it’s a long over the elbow glove or a fleeting fitted glove with basket weave detailing, a gorgeous glove really makes a winter outfit perfect.

  1. How do you define your latest collection?

The brand just launched this past year with immense success! Our DNA is to use the most luxurious European fabrics in a refined and edgy, yet elegant design aesthetic. For Fall Winter 2015-16 we’ll build onto this foundation and continue to curate outerwear that is the quintessence of refined luxury.

  1. If women could only buy one piece from your collection, what would it be and why?

It would be the piece that is a perfect fit for their specific body type. Fit is the most vital aspect to finding the right coat. Rigor Lux caters to all different body types and the piece that helps make the woman look and feel her best is the right choice.

Blanc de Noir’s Miah and Gonzalo

A Canadian design duo making highly functional quality pieces, with collections inspired by different cities.

What are your three essential must-haves for women this season and why?

An oversized blanket scarf, winter was always known for being the least fashionable season but now it is an opportunity to make a big statement, mainly, it’s is bloody cold! A broad-brimmed felt hat, we like how this pairs up with an oversized blanket scarf but watch out for building wind vacuums, it’s hard to run to catch your hat while wearing a blanket. And lots of glitz, we are minimal people and our designs are subtle statements of simplicity but the holidays is when we let really loose and have fun, we become maximalists, nothing is too glitzy.

What are your favourite trends this season?

Emoji slippers, this is not very blanc de noir per se, but from a fashion-culture standpoint we find it fascinating how our ever-growing virtual lives are permeating our corporal lives.

What are your favourite garnishing women need to start wearing this season?

More clutches. We like clutches so much we intended to have 1 in our collection and finished up with 3.

How do you define your latest collection?

Functional, ethical edge and glamour. We care about style as much as the next fashionista, but only as long as it is functional beyond aesthetics. We also believe in making the people who make our products as pleased as those who buy them.

A monochrome and subtle statement of simplicity. To become genderless we had to lower our forms to their most minimal expression. This took a lot of revision, of shaving off detail. We are satisfied when we see our pieces picked up by both men and women in equal numbers.

Handcrafted armor for the urban nomad. Our pieces transition well from day to evening, we designed them for people with very busy schedules. Our knitted garments is as stylish as it is warm.

Slow fashion: for example, we have a piece that takes 36 hours to make, also our forms are so minimal that they become adaptable to many looks, consequently have the potential to endure trends, we hope.

If women could only buy one piece from your collection, what would it be and why?

The Wellesley Inifinity Scarf. It’s a 6.5 ft long statement piece made with baby alpaca and lambsking woven together. It is hard to clarify how it feels when you put it on, but the closest is the the feeling sitting in a luxury vehicle with a rich leather interior, the texture and smell of leather all over you, it’s a sensory overload, not to mention warm.
