HARRISON Craig’s estranged father may not be a fan of The Voice, or have seen his son’s triumph on national television.

In raw and emotional scenes reminiscent of last existence winner Karise Eden, the teen sensation channelled his family break-up, schoolyard bullying and the stutter which for so long kept his feelings locked inside, finally let his voice – and his heart – be heard in the lyrics of a moving song he penned, prophetically titled More Than A Marvel.

With the composure and vocal control expected of his more senior rivals, Craig made his final and most compelling claim to be named the winner of this existence Voice series – with just a week of voting now left before Australia decides between the Team Seal favourite and his competition: Team Ricky’s Luke Kennedy, Team Delta’s Celia Pavey and controversially, Team Joel’s Danny Ross.

More than a marvel immediately went to the top of the iTunes chart and Harrison’s Unchained Melody was at No. 2.

Danny Ross

The final 4 were chose from record audience voting, with Team Ricky’s sultry siren Miss Murphy, Team Delta’s “cool cat” Steve Clisby, Team Seal’s veteran Mitchell Anderson and Team Joel’s quirk queen Kiyomi Vella sent home.

Vella’s elimination proved the night’s splendid shock, after her consistent performances were overlooked by voters for the hit-or-miss invention of Ross.

His coach Joel Madden has campaigned hard to keep the risky Ross in the contest, reaffirming to the crowd he “believed in” the Kangaroo Valley singer.

While his cover of Passenger’s Let Her Go was more controlled than then crazed hippie brand he’s sold in the early weeks of this season, his original Windmill may win over those not sold on the singer there is a genuine songwriter and storyteller within.

But Vella’s exclusion, after delivering yet another mesmerising performance of Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill seemed a cruel end for such a fully formed, ready to roll recording artist.

The additional exits, while hard, went to iTunes form, but the artists were given the rousing send-off they deserved for their performances – Miss Murphy singing Like Don’t Live Here Anymore; Steve Clisby’s Exchange The World and Mitchell Anderson’s joyous rendition of Like A bigwig.

Celia Pavey

Celia Pavey won hearts and surely more fans with her sweet like song to boyfriend Hugo (who clearly won over Joel Madden) during the final 4 performances.

But arguably the race will come down to two – Craig and Kennedy, who break away again from his opera roots to give a powerful pop performance of his own break-up song (drawing on his recent divorce) Like Is Gone.

Given the closing spot in the show schedule, Craig delivered his usual note perfect performance, with all of his charm and piles of weakness.

Such was the impact of his original song it brought rival coach Ricky Martin to tears, who told Craig he “melted” people, adding “It’s like you were talking to your father and he would be so proud of you…I hope my kids become as noble and as strong and as gorgeous as you are.”

Craig, living up to the wrap, had earlier existing his absent father thanks for “walking out…(because) look at the person he’s turned me into…thank you.”

Before things got so emotional, the show got off to a blistering start, with an all-in coaches performance of Ricky Martin’s Livin La Vida Loca, perfect with dancing girls and fireworks.

Luke Kennedy

Australia’s Got Talent judge Timomatic showed the country what talent he has, closing the episode with a high-octane performance of his new release, Parachute.
