Fendi Debuts Fur-Only Show At Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

FENDI COUTURE FALL 2015

Italian fashion household Fendi has officially made its debut at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week with its Fall 2015 couture collection. As the luxury mark’s creative director, Karl Lagerfeld turned to the concept of “haute fourrure” for a 36-piece collection of mainly fur designs. The show itself marked Lagerfeld’s 50th year as Fendi’s designer, and the mark’s first ever couture airstrip show since it was founded in 1925.

Despite the material’s controversial reputation, Lagerfeld sent an array of luxurious furry looks down the couture footbridge. Naturally, the mad PETA fur protestors who were stationed further than the venue couldn’t stop the models from swaggering down the airstrip.

The collection featured elaborate floor-length mink coats and flowing black and grey fur stoles, with a mix of decorative floral accents, feathered detail and gleaming metallic leather leggings. Lagerfeld used a variety of chinchilla, sable and mink furs in the creations, for a contrast against liquid blue, black and gold leggings. Meanwhile, a fitted white gown trimmed with a white fur stole and a matching fur hem was a statement look on the airstrip.

Here’s a closer look at the key looks from Fendi’s Fall 2015 Couture collection:
