Gigi Hadid, Nina Dobrev and More- CFDA Awards 2015 Best Dressed
Last night, the annual Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards were held at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Focal point in New York City. With a star-studded crowd in attendance, the red carpet naturally featured a few eye-catching style statements. From rising model Gigi Hadid to actress Katie Holmes, here are the best dressed celebrity guests of the evening.
1) Gigi Hadid: The 20-year-ancient blonde bombshell arrived in a sleek gold jumpsuit by Michael Kors. The skintight metallic design highlighted her curves, emphasized her endless legs and was perfectly accessorized with a shiny gold envelope clutch. We are also loving the flared leg silhouette, which fits into the season’s groovy ‘70s inspired trend.
2) Nina Dobrev: The 26-year-ancient Bulgarian-born and Toronto-raised actress looked feminine and sweet in a floor-length feathery white skirt, paired with a sleeveless mauve crop top. The Lela Rose ensemble was a girlish combination for the red carpet.
3) Victoria Beckham: Naturally, the 41-year-ancient trendsetting British designer is known for her chic taste and flawlessly tailored black outfits. At the CFDAs, Victoria Beckham stayed right to her fashionista reputation in a black silk gown, which featured a deep V-neckline. The ruched detail and loose bodice on the dress completed the design, which is from VB’s very own Pre-Spring/Summer 2016 collection.
4) Vanessa Hudgens: Although she may be known for her roles in the High School Musical films and Harmony Korine’s 2013 tap Spring Breakers, Vanessa Hudgens looked more sophisticated star than former teen sensation at the awards. The 26-year-ancient brunette beauty wore a deep navy blue gown from Sachin & Babi Noir’s Resort 2016 colelction. The sheer illusion neckline and the asymmetrical dipped hem brought the look to life.
5) Katie Holmes: Always stepping out in classic looks, 36-year-ancient actress Katie Holmes was radiant in a dark green Ralph Lauren creation. The long satin dress with a demure high neckline emphasized her toned and trim figure.
The 2015 CFDA Awards honoured foremost names in the fashion industry, with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s line The Row taking home the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award. Meanwhile, playful and vibrant designer Betsey Johnson was awarded the prized Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Menswear Designer of the Year Award went to American designer Tom Ford, with Tabitha Simmons officially titled the Belt Designer of the Year. Staying right to his fashion sense (which usually features fedoras and edgy suits), Pleased hitmaker Pharrell William was also titled the CFDA Fashion Icon of 2015.
