Harris Wittels, exec of ‘Parks and Recreation,’ dead: report

Harris Wittels, an executive producer and longtime writer on the hit comedy “Parks and Regeneration,” died of a possible drug overdo Thursday , according to reports.
The 30-year-ancient was found on a couch in his L.A. home with drug paraphernalia nearby, TMZ reported.
Wittels had spoken openly about his struggles with heroin addiction in the past and had admitted himself to rehab twice in recent years.
At a stand-up show in downtown L.A. Wednesday Wittels talked about being sober, according to TMZ.
Wittels penned a book in 2012 about the act of boasting and downplaying actions, known as “humblebragging.”
The professional funnyman worked as a writer on a number of TV shows including “Eastbound and Down” and “The Sarah Silverman Program” and played drums with the band Don’t Stop or We’ll Die.
Wittels often guest starred on “Parks & Rec,” which is in its final season, as an animal control employee. The show’s final episode will air next Tuesday.
“RIP and thank you, Harris Wittels,” Comedy Central wrote on Twitter.
