H&M’s New Sarah Jessica Parker Collection At The Met Gala 2015
Ever since 50-year-ancient actress Sarah Jessica Parker starred as the fashion-obsessed Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, the trendsetting star has been known as a style icon. At last night’s annual Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in New York City, SJP unveiled her new collection for H&M. With the theme of China: Through the Looking Glass at the Met Gala 2015, the collection was inspired by habitual Asian style with stitching, beading and sharp, fan-like pleats. We are loving the vibrant splashes of scarlet and crimson, which fit in with the exotic Met Gala 2015 theme.
Using herself as a canvas for her latest designs, the petite actress made a statement in a black, one-shouldered silk dress from her new SJP x H&M line. With its long teach and bright red poppies, SJP certainly stood out on the red carpet. The patch detail on the flowing frock was also made with sustainable materials. Parker paired the dress with an avant garde Phillip Treacy headdress.
Celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens and singer Janelle Monae also stepped out in styles from H&M’s latest celebrity collaboration. Here’s a closer look at their carpet looks from the Met Gala 2015.
1) Vanessa Hudgens: The 26-year-ancient brunette bombshell wore a bright red strapless frock with sharp pleats and a voluminous hem. The dress was adorned with sparkling Swarovski crystals.
2) Janelle Monae: Sticking to her classic black and white colour palette, the 29-year-ancient singer stayed right to her signature style on the red carpet. Monae wore a sleek black cropped tuxedo jacket with matching skirt, accessorized with a flowing, statement cape. The striking white detail brought her outfit to life. Plus, black and white is always chic!
3) Banks: The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter arrived in style in a fierce red off-the-shoulder gown, which was bias cut and perfect with a flirty tiered hem.
