Hollywood couples who didn’t make it this summer

Apparently the summer heat was too strong for some Hollywood couples — with several calling it quits since July.

With more than a dozen couples to hit splitsville, here is a list of the most recent break-ups that shocked fans:

Sept. 2: Avril Lavigne and Chad Krueger

As Avril would say, “See you later boy.”

The pop star and Nickelback frontman, Chad Krueger, announced their separation after two years of marriage. Lavigne posted a wedding photo on Instagram and said “We are still, and forever will be, the best of friends.”

Both Canadian rockers struggled with shape issues the past year. Lavigne, 30, fought with Lyme disease and Nickelback given up for lost their summer tour after Kroeger looked-for surgery for a cyst on his voice box.

Lavigne’s ex-husband Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 remarried last month.

Aug. 21: Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

Just a year ago, Megan Fox was gushing to Sophisticated magazine about her leading man.

“I don’t want to be boastful and say that we would never divorce, but I can’t imagine a scenario we couldn’t work through,” she told the magazine.

But months later, the 29-year-ancient Fox filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple had been together for 11 years — since Fox was 18 — and have two kids together.

Green, 42, is still wearing his wedding ring while Fox has been blemished without it, according to tabloid reports.

Aug. 5: Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson

This Duggar isn’t heading to the alter anytime soon.

Josiah Duggar, 18, and Marjorie Jackson, 17, finished their courtship, — the chaperone dating way of the Duggars — the Duggar family said in a statement.

The teens had been dating four months, with Duggar posting cute pictures of their dates on Instgram.

While the family assured fans the split was amicable, Duggar removed all photos of Jackson from his Instagram a day after the announcement, Radar Online reported.

Aug. 4: Miss Piggy and Kermit

Not even the well-known pair of Muppets could survive the summer of break-ups.

Being the professional workers that they are, the couple said in a Facebook post that they would continue to work together. The heartbreaking news came on the heels of promoting their new show, “The Muppets.”

The pair seem to be doing fine. Less than a month later, Kermit has rebounded with a new pig — a thinner and younger one.

As for Miss Piggy, she told a Television Critics Association panel that she’s enjoying the attention into her release life.

Aug. 4: Zayn Malik and Perrie Edwards

Zayn Malik went for a solo act both in his professional and personal life.

The former One Management member finished his engagement to Small Mix singer, Perrie Edwards, 22.

Nicknamed ‘Zerrie’ by fans, the duo started dating in 2011 and got engaged in 2013. Edwards stood by her beau in March when he was blemished holding hands with a woman in Thailand, sparking cheating rumors.

Following the high profile split, Perrie’s bandmate, Jade Thirlwall, was snapped dissing Malik a week later. During a radio visit, she brought a sign that read “Zayn is irrelevant, anyway!”

Aug. 3: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale

It was a shaky road for these rock musicians.

In 2004, only two years after they wed, a paternity test revealed a lovechild from Rossdale’s previous relationship with model Pearl Lowe.

Then in 2010, he admitted to Details magazine that he had an affair in the 80s with a cross-dressing male singer . Also that year, Courtney Like told Howard Stern she had an affair with Rossdale while he was married. Neither Stefani nor Rossdale commented on the allegations.

Stefani filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” The pair have three children.

Aug. 3: Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock

Country superstar Reba McEntire tops the list for longest lasting marriage(at least for non-Muppets) before heading to splitsville.

After 26 years together, the couple announced their separation.

McEntire, 60 and Blackstock, 58, have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so, a statement from Huge Machine Mark Group said.

The couple had already been separated for a few months, the statement added. They have one child. Their daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson urged the duo to stay together, US Weekly reported.

July 15: Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge

Actress Sienna Miller, 33, has had her share of up and downs with finding like in Hollywood.

The latest was the demise of her four year relationship to actor Tom Sturridge, 29. The couple had a daughter in 2012 and became engaged that year.

Before her engagement to Sturridge, she was linked to married actor Balthazar Getty. The actor admitted to the year-long on-and-off affair to Harpers Festival in 2010.

Miller’s former flings also include Jude Law, who in 2006 made headlines for his affair with his children’s nanny. The two rekindled their romance in 2011 but couldn’t make it work, again.

July 6: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

The reality star fans like to despise took things too far when he was snapped by paparazzi getting cozy with his ex-girlfriend, Chloe Bartoli, in July.

It was the last straw for reality starlet Kourtney Kardashian who had been on and off with boyfriend Disick throughout their nine-year romance.

The couple took to social media to air out their feelings. Kardashian recently tweeted “Above all else, guard your heart.” Meanwhile, Disick posted a lonely photo on his Instagram last month. “When you realize the grass isn’t always greener,” he wrote in a shot of his sole placecard at a friend’s wedding.

The pair have three children, with their latest, Reign, born eight months ago.

June 30: Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck

Bennifer round two didn’t work out either.

A-listers Jennifer Garner, 43, and Ben Affleck, also 43, shocked fans when they announced their divorce after a decade of marriage.

The amicable split took a dirty turn when OK! magazine revealed allegations of a romance between Affleck and his children’s nanny Christine Ouzounian.

The couple and their three children have spent time together during the summer despite the highly publicized fallout. They were snapped together in Atlanta, GA and Walt Disney World.
