Island Of Lemurs: Madagascar

Morgan Freeman (who else?) narrates this science-lite fleeting that aims to do for lemurs – our oldest primate ancestor – what Meerkat Manor did for those upstanding fellows. Well, sort of: the gorgeous 3D certainly brings us nose to tail with these heavily anthropomorphised cuties, even if the actual wildlife lesson’s a bit thin on the ground, owing to a very reduced running time.

And while equal – if not greater – screen time is afforded those humans attempting to save them “one generation at a time”, the larger issue of the Madagascan islanders’ complicity in their endangerment is decidedly soft-soaped.
