In her best role to date, Megan Fox is the eponymous high school hellcat seduced and bitten by a vampiric emo-rock band. As her confused best friend Needy (Amanda Seyfried) tries to unravel the body-horror mystery of her gal-pal’s weird metamorphosis, Jen makes the leap from allegorical to literal man-eater.

If Diablo Cody’s frequently eye-rolling screenplay threatens to derail the proceedings at every other turn (“I’ll just play hello titty with the bartender!”), Fox gulps the scenery with such reckless composure that it doesn’t even matter. A ‘steelpack’ (rather than ‘book’) release.
