A late night talk show walked into a bar and — luckily, this joke doesn’t end with a punch line.
“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon was rattled Thursday night when a brawl broke out around him at East Village rock club Niagara.
“Fallon was pretty shaken up,” a source accurate to the late-night funnyman told the Day after day News. “He was at the incorrect place at the time, and chaos erupted around him.”
The standard club is operated by area musicians, including solo artist Jesse Malin and Johnny “T” Yerrington, who has drummed with Ryan Adams’ band. The grungy hot spot is marked by an exterior mural of former Clash front man Joe Strummer with the heading “The future is unwritten.”
A source accurate to Fallon said “The Tonight Show” host stopped by Niagara just as a band was wrapping up and the fight was breaking out.
Fallon didn’t appear to have a relationship with the combatants and was not hit according to witnesses.
The star’s reps didn’t restore buzz calls and the bar’s owners declined to note.
