Julianne Moore axed from tourism campaign over ‘poor acting

Julianne Moore was reportedly dropped from Turkey’s tourism campaign due to “poor acting.”

Julianne Moore has finally won an Oscar — but her acting abilities reportedly got her dropped from a foremost project.

The movie star has been dropped as the face of Turkey’s tourism campaign due to her “poor acting” skills, according to the Turkish media outlet Hürriyet Day after day News.

Moore reportedly filmed a promotional video titled “Home Of,” which showed her traveling in an airplane while recalling childhood memories of her visits to Turkey. Shot in Los Angeles last year, the film was supposed to air in Turkey commencement in February 2014.

But the Hürriyet Day after day News reports that the country’s Culture and Tourism Ministry were miserable with the actress’ performance and wanted her to reshoot the film. When Moore rejected their request, the project was given up for lost, with ministry sources citing her “poor acting” as the reason.

A rep for Moore did not immediately respond to a request for note.

The publication reports that ministry official place of protection’t released a statement about the film’s cancellation because it does not note on “unfinished projects.” (The U.S. based-Turkish Culture and Tourism Offices have yet to respond to a request for note.)

Even prior to the cancellation, the outfit’s choice to have the “Boogie Nights” star serve as the face of the state’s tourism campaign caused controversy.

The Turkish publication reports that many prominent figures from “advertisers to politicians” balked at having the actress as the face for the tourism campaign due to her “depressive assumed role.”

Iconisus & I Mean it, the advertising outfit that chose Moore for the project, reportedly lost $ 1.5 million due to the axing of the $ 4 million project.

In an interview with the Hürriyet Day after day News last year, the outfit’s title-holder Emre Yücel said he plotting the actress was an ideal choice to pull towards you wealthy American and British tourists.

“I can’t know why she is not liked here,” he said.

Even with the actress reportedly no longer caught up in the project, there are “over 30 similar films” with other actors that have already been filmed, ministry sources told the Hürriyet Day after day News.

As for Moore, who scored the Best Actress Oscar for “Still Alice” earlier this year after four previous nominations, she’s keeping busy with other movie projects.

The 54-year-ancient star is currently filming “Maggie’s Plot” with Ethan Hawke and can next be seen onscreen “Mockingjay Part 2,” the final film in the “Hunger Games” franchise, which is due out this fall.
