Justin Bieber found guilty of assault, careless driving

Justin Bieber got slapped with a modest fine and absolute discharge for two charges he racked up in his native Canada.
The 21-year-ancient pop star appeared in a Stratford courtroom via video on Thursday and pled guilty to assault and careless driving charges stemming from an incident in the northeast part of the city in late August 2014, reports the Stratford Beacon Herald.
“Existing the chance to note, Bieber said, ‘No ma’am,’” local news reporter Joseph Brean tweeted Thursday.
He added, “There you have it, folks. Justin Bieber is a Canadian criminal.”

Bieber and ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez were going for a joyride on an ATV on the back roads near Stratford when the “Beauty and a Beat” singer had a run-in with a paparazzo. Police said the ATV collided with a minivan and the Biebs had a “corporal altercation” with the van’s driver, the Canadian site reports.

Aside from the minimal $ 750 fine for the assault charge that likely didn’t even dent the global superstar’s pocket, the court also lessened the original perilous driving charge, which is a criminal offense, to careless driving.
“Bieber judge: ‘The lesson in all of this is to think before you act in the future.’ Accepts plea deal sentence,” Brean tweeted.
