Kim K. devastated by attention given to Bruce Jenner

Kim Kardashian is devastated by the reports about Bruce Jenner becoming a woman — but only because it’s such a splendid report.

Confidenti@l is told the reality queen feels ignored by the magazines that her core audience reads — even if she pretends they don’t matter. And it’s been made worse because her former stepfather has been all over the celebrity glossies for weeks.

“Kim has only been on one and a half (tabloid) covers in 2015,” said an industry insider, meaning that while In Touch magazine dedicated a whole cover to her, she shared the front of Star with sister Khloe.

“Neither Life & Style, OK!, Us Weekly nor People have had her on their cover once this year,” added the source. “But Bruce has been on four In Touch covers, two Us Weekly covers and a People cover.”

While Kardashian has hardly been starved for media attention, having posed naked ad nauseam on the cover of up-market magazines like Paper and Like, the insider says while those outlets promote her bottom, they don’t do a lot for her bottom line.

“Bruce is getting the attention and the only time people show her is when she’s naked on magazine covers, which is fine, but she needs to sell brands and products. It’s not like she makes anything off of Paper mag,” said the source. “She still needs to sell her Sears collection. She still needs the mainstream press.”

“Look what she did earlier in the week in New York — it’s 20 degrees and she’s wearing a cleavage-baring tank top while everyone around here is in hats and gloves,” sniped our source. “She’s literally exposing herself while walking out of a hotel on purpose. But as a family they are well attentive of the focus on Bruce.”

The Bruce brouhaha started last month with In Touch’s cover of the Olympic hero doctored to add women’s clothes and makeup. It soon was announced that Jenner is granting Diane Sawyer an exclusive interview in which he’s expected to announce his transition as well as reveal his new name.

Since then, Jenner has been caught up in a car accident in which Kim Howe, 69, of Calabasas, Calif., was killed. Reports say Jenner has put his transition on a temporary hold to put space between the accident and his E! docuseries and Sawyer special.

CARMELO CAN RUIN THE PLAY

Way to ruin a good girls’ night, Melo. A Confidenti@l spy tells us Beyoncé and LaLa Anthony were having something of a boozy evening out in anticipation of LaLa’s husband, the Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony, crashed it. “They came into the Griffin around 12 a.m. and stayed in anticipation of well after 2 a.m.,” says our source. “It was beyond doubt girls’ night out — tons of dancing and Champagne,” says our spy. “She was really giggly and pleased. Carmelo showed up later and sat with them, but looked like he was intruding.”

That’s a trick question because Molly Sims was unable to talk her way out of a traffic ticket in Beverly Hills on Thursday. There didn’t seem to be hard feelings, though. Sims gladly signed her citation and even gave the officer a big hug.

STARKS RIGHT ON ’CUE

Former Knick John Starks had a barbecue dinner at Virgil’s Real Barbecue in Times Square with two buddies recently, a spy tells Confidenti@l. Starks ordered Virgil’s renowned BBQ chicken wings, a side of beans and potato salad, and chowed down. “He’s from Oklahoma, so he must have been channeling his roots,” says our spy. Lucky fans dining in the restaurant got pics with Starks, who was pleased to pose before leaving. “At 6-feet-5, I can’t believe he fit through the door,” laughed our source.

GAGA GIVES A HAND

Lady Gaga is a generous gal. A source further than Staples Focal point in Los Angeles tells Confidenti@l the singer “went out of her way” to slip a $ 100 bill to a homeless man further than the venue who questioned her for money. “The homeless guy was absolutely thrilled to hear it. He looked truly shocked,” says our source. “She gave him a big smile and wished him well.” Later, the kooky singer went braless for a flight out of L.A., carrying a ball-and-string themed purse, with her dog Asia not far behind.

GREAT STATE OF THE UNION

Gabrielle Union looks adorable as she happily signs the wall at AOL’s Build Speaker Series in New York, where she was a guest. Union was there to discuss her BET show, “Being Mary Jane,” the network’s first hour-long scripted drama. The hit show has Union playing TV news anchor Mary Jane Paul, who’s juggling work and family while looking for like. The series premiere had more than 4 million viewers.

LUANN TAKES PARTY LINE

LuAnn de Lesseps, cameras in tow, hit the Strand Bistro recently to film for “Real Housewives of New York.” Diners at the eatery, which just snagged chef Coby Farrow from BLT Fill in, were checking out de Lesseps as she did a scene, a source tells us. “Then they went up to the roof bar, Top of the Strand, and partied all night,” says our source. The “countess” was celebrating her restore to Shop HQ, where she’ll showcase her line on Sunday and Monday.

CHRISSY’S SPOT BY THE BEY

With another Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue behind her, Chrissy Teigen hit the beach for the new XOXO campaign. The shoot took place in Golden Beach, Fla., on the same waterfront where Beyoncé filmed her “Drunk in Like” vid. That sand has seen it all. Teigen also shot for the XOXO fashion brand last year.
