Lamar Odom to celebrate 36th birthday with hospital party
Lamar Odom remains hospitalized but held court during an intimate birthday have fun inside Cedars-Sinai Medical Focal point on Friday, a source told the Day after day News.
Wife Khloé Kardashian, 31, plotted the small soiree to mark his 36th year and invited some of his former Clippers teammates to attend, the source confirmed.

“She would like for him to have a special day,” the source told The News.
Lakers players Kobe Bryant and Metta World Peace were traveling Friday but plotted to connect with their former teammate via video chat, People.com reported.
The have fun guest list also included two of Odom’s best friends who are not basketball players and his NBA trainer of 15 years, the magazine said.

The VIP gathering was set to take place in a private area of the hospital, not in Odom’s room.
Kardashian arranged for decorations and a cake at the carefully orchestrated event.
“It’s just a very small group of people because Lamar cannot handle too much stimulus, but the doctors are allowing a small group for a fleeting time on his birthday,” People’s source said.
A spokeswoman for Odom’s aunt JaNean Mercer released a statement Friday to mark the occasion.
“Every birthday with Lamar is special but today is an especially momentous occasion and we honor God for this day and thank him for allowing us to spend this time together,” spokeswoman Alvina Alston said.
“Please continue to keep Lamar and our family in prayer as he continues on this miraculous journey,” she said.
Odom pal Daniel Artest said he plotted to meet up with his older brother, Metta World Peace, and they’d try to call Odom together.
“I hope we can say, ‘Pleased Birthday’ together as a family. He’s someone I grew up with,” Artest told The News.
It was Oct. 13 that Odom was found unconscious and bleeding from his nose inside a legal Nevada brothel just north of Las Vegas.
He was rushed to a hospital and lingered in a coma for days but eventually woke up and was transferred to Los Angeles by helicopter for ongoing treatment.
Odom took his first steps in Los Angeles, but he reportedly battled pneumonia and kidney hurt and looked-for an undisclosed emergency surgery.

A source told People that the former basketball star is now off dialysis and will not need a kidney transplant.
His recovery is expected to take months and involve extensive therapy.
Kardashian called off the couple’s pending divorce shortly after the incident but is still dating NBA star James Harden, 26, a shooting guard on the Houston Rockets, a source previously told The News.
“I pulled back on the divorce because there is no rush for it. For medical reasons and a ton of other things, it’s just smarter that it’s put on hold,” Kardashian told People last week.
“But that does not mean I’m back with Lamar. It’s not even in our brains to think about us having a relationship. Only time will tell,” she said.
