Life Of Crime

Based on Elmore Leonard novel The Switch, this crime caper’s been so long in development it now acts as a prequel to 1997’s Jackie Brown. Jennifer Aniston brings poignancy to her role as a kidnapped wife whose husband (Tim Robbins) isn’t too fussed about her freedom.

John Hawkes lends a crumpled dignity to the noblest of her three abductors – though everyone’s thunder is stolen by Sons Of Anarchy’s Mark Boone Jr. The twists lean towards the glib, but any time in Leonard’s world is rarely time wasted – especially now he’s no longer around to share it with us.
