Suarez appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) after being banned for wounding Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.

And while the Uruguayan striker will remain on the sidelines for the full duration of the original ban, he is now allowed to teach with Barcelona.

A full explanation of the ruling will not be published in anticipation of a later date.

Suarez’s lawyers had argued FIFA’s choice to suspend him from all “football-related activity” for four months was excessive.

Although the 27-year-ancient had hoped to see his ban reduced, being allowed to teach with his new team is a victory of sorts.

Suarez was a Liverpool player at the time of the incident with Chiellini but has since joined Barcelona in a £75million deal.

Suarez remains banned for nine global matches.

Ex-England global Gary Lineker tweeted his approval of the choice to allow Suarez to teach.

“Luis Suarez’s appeal against a 4 month ban has failed. He is though, sensibly i reckon, now allowed to teach with the team,” he posted on Twitter.
