Sofia Richie is a material girl, living in a material world. The younger sister of designer Nicole Richie is the star of the fall 2015 Material Girl campaign and the brand’s creators, Madonna and her daughter Lola, couldn’t be more pleased. “Sofia Richie perfectly embodies the style and spirit of Material Girl and is the ideal new face for the line,” according to Madge. Lola added, “Coming from an artistic family, self-expression is in our blood. I like Sofia’s style and energy.”

Call her Umasaurus Rex. Uma Thurman joined Laverne Cox, Dascha Polanco and some prehistoric pals at the American Museum of Natural History on Thursday night to launch the learning games Dino Tales and Safari Tales. Earlier this week at Comic-Con in San Diego, director Quentin Tarantino admitted that he and Thurman have had discussion about doing a third “Kill Bill” film. Maybe this one will include dinosaurs?

Pétanque anyone? Beautique Southampton will host a pétanque tournament — the French answer to bocce — to celebrate Bastille Day on Sunday. Restaurateurs Frederick Lesort and Jean-Georges Vongerichten are expected to attend the “Frenchampton” bash, which takes place on the grounds of the Capri Hotel right behind the restaurant. Howard Stern and Jennifer Lopez have been known to hang out there, too.

GOTTFRIED’S AID IS LAUGHABLE
One of the most recognizable voices in comedy will speak on behalf of local heroes in Queens next month. Brooklyn native Gilbert Gottfried is headlining “Laughter is the Best Medicine … Take 2” on Aug. 22, to raise money for the Forest Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps in Queens. Tickets for the Queens Theatre laughfest went on sale this week and cost $ 40-$ 50.

HE’S A BLANK SLATER ABOUT FASHION
Christian Slater may like attending men’s fashion shows, but the designers are not making much of an impression on him. At the John Varvatos show Thursday night, Slater told Confidential about his week. “I went to one show — Mark Shaffer — and it was splendid.” The problem is that the show he attended was really Todd Snyder. Oops. Perhaps Varvatos made a better impression on him and the other front-row celebs, Tyson Beckford, Johnny Galecki and Red Hot Chili Pepper Chad Smith.

Just call them the Real Housewives of the Hamptons. Ramona Singer and Aviva Drescher are expected to join Billy Joel’s third ex-wife, Katie Lee, at Social Life magazine’s St. Barth’s Hamptons Gala on Saturday night. Lee is also featured in the mag’s latest issue, in which she says, “If you would have told me 10 years ago who I would be today, I wouldn’t have believed it.” Lee, 33, married Joel in 2004. The couple divorced five years later.
