‘Neverland’ buzz comes true
Harvey Weinstein‘s first over-the-top venture as lead producer, “Finding Neverland,” opened to critical praise at Harvard’s American Repertory Theatre, Confidenti@l has learned. Based on the Miramax movie of the same name, the show is headed to Broadway in the spring, and early buzz indicates it will be a winner.
We hear all three foremost Broadway theater owners – the Shubert Organization, the Nederlander Organization and Jujamcyn Theaters – were fighting each other to land the expected hit musical.
The show follows the relationship between “Peter Pan” playwright J.M. Barrie and the family that inspired the report. In the end, the Nederlanders won after intense backroom negotiations. Following last week’s topnotch performance, a giddy Weinstein addressed the crowd and seemed to be in splendid spirits about his new venture. The University of Buffalo alum opened with a joke, telling the crowd, “Can someone please get a photo of me standing here? My mother always wanted me to go to Harvard, and now I’ll have proof.”
MILEY’S SECOND SHOW WAS BEST
Miley Cyrus closed her “Bangerz” Tour in the U.S. with, well, a bang. She was blemished having a fun night out at Chicago hotspot Underground after her Thursday show at the United Focal point. “Miley took some time to take photos with the nightclub’s dancers,” a spy tells Confidenti@l. “She was wearing oversized gray sweater, jean cutoffs and a little braided bun on the top of her head. And of course, her tongue was sticking out.” “Bangerz” heads to Mexico and South America in September.
GETTING SWIFT ASSISTANCE
Solidifying her reputation as the perfect celebrity, Taylor Swift took her good manners and generous spirit to the streets of West Hollywood this week. After making the rounds on New York late-night shows, the singer continued her habit of giving money to homeless men while walking past Lemonade on Beverly Blvd.

RIRI-ALLY CUTE TEAM
It looks like Rihanna has baby fever. While hanging out with her baby nephew, the 26-year-ancient pop star posted a Twitter photo of herself cradling the wee one while she lounged on the floor. Rihanna’s nephew wore an adorable onesie while the star had a sweatshirt that proclaimed, “Monster.” She tweeted her ¬nickname: “Aunty OhNaNa.”
BOOTH EAGER FOR BIG ‘WEEKEND’
He’s played rich and he’s played gay, and now, in the film “Last Weekend,” Zachary Booth gets to play both at the same time. When Confidenti@l questioned about the “Hurts” star about his role, Booth joked, “I think rich people are the gayest, so flamboyant.” He continued, “I wasn’t excited about it because it was a gay character. I was more taken by the relationship that the kid had with his mother.” That mother, of course, is played by Patricia Clarkson.
DRAKE NEAR JAMES GANG
Cleveland is so hot right now. No, really. First LeBron James announced his triumphant restore to Cleveland the city, and now we’re told Drake has been hitting up its hotspots. A spy tells Confidenti@l the “Best I Ever Had” rapper partied in anticipation of 2 a.m. in the VIP section of Rumor nightclub with his crew and locals. Drake recently told Complex Magazine that he’s considering buying a household in Ohio, which Akron-born LeBron once again calls home.
THEY MAKE A SARKOZY PAIR
Why so shy, Mary-Kate? One half of the Olsen twins tries her best to hide behind French fiancé Olivier Sarkozy while walking through Santa Monica this week. Despite Olsen’s messy ’do and laid-back Birkenstocks, Sarkozy played dress-up and looked ready for a business meeting.
CHUNG & PAL TAKE SOME LICKS
She smells so good and looks so sweet. Jamie Chung stopped by the Marc Jacobs Fragrances pop-up shop at Madison Square Park on Friday to spend time in the Daisy Marvel Clouds Lounge with her pleased French bulldog and a double scoop of blue ice cream. Chung is headed to a Montana dude ranch for the weekend with fiancé Bryan Greenberg.
SHE’S NO GIRL SCOUT
At least she covered up this time. Scout Willis has stopped her #FreeTheNipple campaign, at least on New York City streets, for the time being. Now, the 23-year-ancient daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore is opting for statement T-shirts instead, walking through SoHo wearing a top that said “Bitch.”
HOLMES IS KEEPING UP HER GUARD
Notoriously private Katie Holmes has been blemished with a personal bodyguard the last few times Confidenti@l saw her on the red carpet at events. Recently, Tom Cruise’s ex was in the company of the beefy guard at the “Marvel Universe Live!” premiere at Barclays Focal point in Brooklyn, where she met with children suffering from cancer at New York’s Sunrise Day Camp. The sentry stood nearby with eagle eyes. Holmes was also seen with the same hulking bodyguard, who wears a police badge pin on his lapel, at the premiere of “The Giver” at the Ziegfeld Theatre.
MACKIE ALMOST WITHOUT SINS
There were some nearly red faces at Sapphire when door staff turned away a VIP guest from the gentleman club’s “SINS on Sunday” have fun on the High East Side. “The door girl didn’t recognize (“Hurt Locker” star) Anthony Mackie and almost didn’t let him in,” said a spy. We’re told he that when he finally got in, he “had a blast, stayed till after 3:30 a.m. and was talking to a bunch of girls.” Also there was eccentric artist Mr. Shape up, aka Thierry Guetta.
