It’s always recommended to have nude prerequisites in a woman’s wardrobe, but for women of colour, finding suitable skin-tone lingerie can be a hard task. There is a lack of choices in hosiery as well as lingerie for women of colour.

This frustration had encouraged Nubian Skin founder, Ade Hassan to make “a different kind of nude.” She was inspired by supermodel Iman, who was the founder of Iman cosmetics and made Fashion Honest. It hasn’t been simple, but it had to be done.

Nubian Skin launched with a purpose and that was to fit the needs of women of colour. They wanted to provide these women with the right prerequisites from lingerie to hosiery in the best skin tone which strayed away from the typical “nude.”
