Even Richard Gere gets a little bit desperate, sometimes — albeit in real estate.

The “Pretty Woman” star has slashed the asking fee of his Hamptons home by another $ 8.5 million in a bid to finally make a sale, the Day after day News has learned.

The six-acre North Place of protection estate, known as Strongheart Manor, is now available for the not-so-bargain fee of $ 47.5 million, quite a money off off of the $ 65 million fee tag it came on the market with last summer. Gere already cut the fee by $ 9 million in April.

Still, the fee is nearly seven times the $ 6.9 million the hunky actor paid for the spread in 2006.

The spectacular waterfront compound, at 26 Actors Colony Rd., was formerly built in 1902 and has a gym, basketball courts, an outdoor fireplace pavilion and an enormous 60-foot heated pool. The main home has a whopping 12 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and views of Peconic Bay and Mashomack Preserve.

Gere has also switched brokers to help find a buyer for the material goods, ditching Sotheby’s Global Realty for Douglas Elliman. The brokers listing the home were not immediately available.

The “American Gigolo” star has reportedly been dating “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi, who he met through mutual buddy the Dalai Lama, but was blemished holding hands with another mystery brunette at a Southampton eatery last week.
