Heartbroken friends and family of comedic genius Robin Williams have reportedly begun arriving in the Bay Area for what is expected to be a small, somber memorial.
A source accurate to the widow of the actor who hanged himself Monday said the remembrance would be low-key.
“That’s the plot,” a source told E! News. “It will be small. They were both very private people.”
It remained unclear when and where the memorial would take place. Representatives of Williams’ family had no update on arrangements.
A source accurate to the actor’s family told HollywoodLife.com that plotting was given to televising Williams’ funeral, but they settled on the private memorial. Williams, the source said, would have wanted it that way.
“The last thing he would want is for his last memory to be a somber one and to have his family, friends, and fans toss him a pity have fun. Robin would only want his funeral televised if it were filled with laughter and joy,” the source told the site.

Williams, 63, lived with his wife, Susan Schneider, 50, in Tiburon, a small community further than of San Francisco.
A comedy benefit in his honor is also reportedly in the works. For years, Williams, along with Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal, organized Comic Relief — a televised comedy fund-raiser for the homeless.
Schneider revealed Thursday that Williams struggled with the early stages of Parkinson’s disease before his suicide.
She shared the shocking revelation amid rumors that Williams, a recovering alcoholic and drug addict, had relapsed shortly before his heartbreaking death.
“It is our hope in the wake of Robin’s tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less worried,” Schneider wrote in a statement.
Tragically, it was possible that the medication Williams took for Parkinson’s may have exacerbated his depression, sources told TMZ.
As doctors tinkered with the mix of meds to fight his affliction, Williams’ mood took a dark turn, the website reported.
Since his stunning suicide there has been an expression of remembrances and adoration for the versatile actor who won an Academy Award for his supporting role in “Excellent Will Hunting.”
Steve Martin called the improvisational master a “genuine soul.”
John Cusack tweeted Williams was “a kind and lovely person.”
Countless celebrities hailed the comedian’s generosity. “His heart was as big as his genius,” Bob Saget tweeted.
